Comment Period Extended on the Proposed Rule to Eliminate the "Alaska Exception" to Taking Land into Trust

On July 1, 2014, the Department of Interior published the attached notice in the FEDERAL REGISTER extending the comment period on the Proposed Rule which would eliminate the "Alaska Exception" from current land-into-trust regulations. The comment period, originally scheduled to end on June 30, 2014, has been extended to July 31, 2014.

We reported on the proposed rule in our General Memorandum 14-036 of
May 9, 2014.

Please let us know if we may provide additional information or assistance in preparing comments on the Proposed Rule.
