Marie Osceola-Branch
Legislative Specialist
Ms. Osceola-Branch, of Miccosukee/Seminole descent, joined
HSDW in 1994. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Osceola-Branch
worked for the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida for
14 years, serving successively as health education coordinator,
tribal school principal, and government programs manager.
Ms. Osceola-Branch's responsibilities at the Firm include
monitoring and advocacy on various legislative and appropriations
issues, including Indian Self-Determination and housing as
well as the BIA and HUD budgets. She closely follows legislation
related to gaming and transportation. Ms. Osceola-Branch has
worked extensively on the reauthorization of the Individuals
with Disabilities Education Act on behalf of a number of our
clients.
Ms. Osceola-Branch earned a Master of Science in Educational
Leadership from Florida International University in 1988,
and received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from
the University of Miami in 1975.
